I don't mean some nonsense like, "Oh, you just Hadouglen and he'll jump," but rather that the ways they approach, the timing of their attacks, and when you can hit them when they're least likely to block/dodge are all very consistent.Īnyway, you didn't ask for any advice so I won't shove it down your throat or anything, but if you'd like to discuss ways to better acclimate yourself to the challenges of the game in a way that is actually fun and rewarding, I'd be more than happy to be a part of that conversation. The way the AI moves is very predictable. If you prefer to read what I'm saying as, "Git gud," then just ignore it, I'm not responding to generate some sort of argument. You do have to familiarize youself with the AI, though. You don't have to jump, grab, block, or anything else.

with Glen especially, you can literally just walk up to each enemy and pummel them with any combination of P and K until they die, let alone using specials. It's no exaggeration when I say that you can play either character with 1 button, even through the final act. I imagine the reason that you think Paul and Glen are the only playable characters is because you likely want to approach the game in the simplest way possible. There isn't enough chill pills in the world to keep that from reaching meltdown levels of rage) (To be fair, some people are good enough with a few of the other characters to get through the game, but sweet Jesus help you if you're playing Rudy or Bruno. I don't WANT to feel like only 2 characters out of the roster can still be viable. But ultimately I don't WANT to be forced to air juggle every single enemy ever. You CAN learn to air juggle enemies to death. Originally posted by WistRogue:Feeling like you're forced to play either Paul or Glen? It seems these are the only 2 characters that remain competitive after act 2 and even with these two it's a tough slog. Either way I think my time with this game is done unless something changes. I'm curious, in the fighter spot light vids and combo vids could that have been done against AI with near superhuman abilities? I doubt it. The irritating, frustrating AI saps all the fun from the game, and just makes me go play Mother Russia Bleeds to get my beat em up fix. But that doesn't change the fact that it IS irritating, and it's my single biggest complaint. Sure there are people out there that don't have a problem with this game. When every enemy dodges, blocks, jumps, or avoids every single thing you do it doesn't feel like an honest challenge. Those games are hard, but feel fair so that when you die you feel like you learn from that death and improve.

Then you reach act 3 and it all falls apart.įeeling like you're forced to play either Paul or Glen? The RPG elements are there, the characters are varied and interesting to play (at first). I actually quite liked the game in the begining. It isn't the worst thing I've ever played. Granted I'm not going to be that guy who totally bashes this game. Why are we defending this game? It has issues. Anytime anyone so much as mentions how irritating this game is they are flooded with mountains of people saying "Git Gud Noob" and other nonsense.

I was a huge fan of the original way back when on the NES, but I don't get this game or this board.
